Many people seem to be giving up on online marketing, seeing how it’s hard to get ahead online without resorting to shady practices that are borderline spam. We’re not going to get into what those might be here and now, suffice it to say that for all intents and purposes, they are spam, and we here at Pixel of Genius are totally against them. But does that make online marketing as a whole dead? Is there only room for the big players with big bucks? Stay tuned to find out.
Is online marketing a dead concept?
Never thought I’d be writing an opinion piece today, but I guess I am doing it after all. At a first glance, online marketing does seem to be becoming a field where the more money you have, the better your success rate is going to be with your online campaign. Even if your business is offering a service better than everyone else’s, if you don’t have enough money, you won’t be able to attract the kind of audience numbers that you need to.
However, with the advent of social media, it’s getting harder and harder to drown out the voices of people with huge marketing campaigns. Social marketing is becoming increasingly more important, and you can’t silence the voices of thousands of people’s comments, likes, recommendations, etc. Even if you paint yourself, your company I mean, in the best possible light with a classic marketing campaign, without living up to it by offering a good service or products, you won’t get far in the social media sphere. Hence the reason why I think that online marketing isn’t dead, only a new chapter of it is starting.
